Big Sable Point Lighthouse: Just ask either of the diminutive diplomats, the 130 steps to the top were no problem. The Secretary selects his next subject of exploration: The Sand Dune. Or, is he simply resting on the 1.5 mile return trek? Imitating a scene from Collision Course, The Ambassador forges an important relationship with The Sand Dune, exclaiming, "Close!" The Sand Dune have a well established culture. This gesture is the traditional Scattering of The Grains. A farewell salute.

It's hard to believe this adventure started in the rain. The Ambassador and The Secretary are both quite thankful for a bench in the shade. The Ambassador wishes you smooth sailing and many, many mounds of sand. After all, there's nothing more fun than "runnin' the dunes".

Note: Our trip to the lighthouse was a wonderful one. It was definitely made more so by the volunteers who assisted us. Their knowledge of the lighthouse, history and how to make the most of the experience for young children made our excursion more special. In case you wonder why there are no pictures of the inside of the lighthouse, the hands of The Official Photographer were rather busy.
